I’ve gone fat! I just installed a set of Schwalbe Big Apple 26x2.35” tires on my Big Dummy. I found them on sale for 60% off, so I couldn’t pass them up. They fill out the frame quite nicely and play the role perfectly on this bike. They’re wide and cushy, plus they roll better than the knobby mountain bike tires that I had on previously. They look better too.
However after one ride to work, they do seem to be a bit more wobbly. I can’t put my finger on it. Perhaps the bike geometry is changed since the overall radius is increased. It pulls a little funny when I lean into turns. It’s a little wonky. Nothing that will make me crash, but I’ll have to see if I get used to it.
Otherwise, I also got a kick stand, which is quite useful for this kind of bike.
